Our country (Lebanon) is becoming one of the most polluted countries from its sea to its nature. One of the most dangerous types of pollution faced nowadays is the one caused by the smoke emitted from factories and burning garbage. Pollution disturbs the balance of our ecosystems, affects our normal lifestyles and gives rise to human illnesses and global warming. Pollution has reached its peak because of the development and modernization in our lives.
Air pollution is becoming one of the most dangerous forms of pollution. This chemical and physical change happening in the air occurs when smoke, dust, or harmful gases enter the atmosphere and make it difficult for all living beings to survive. The burning of fossil fuels in factories and many similar industries, as well as people’s harmful acts that release a huge amount of chemical substances in the air every day are leading to a lot of alarming effects. Global warming, acid rain, and respiratory and heart problems are some of these dangerous effects. Moreover, wildlife species and forced to change their habitats in order to survive as many are becoming extinct these days.
Furthermore, water pollution is leading our world to the path of destruction. Water is one of the greatest natural resources that is not appreciated by humans but instead is being polluted without thinking. The main causes of the water pollution are: industrial waste, mining activities, sewage and waste water, accidental oil spills, and the usage of chemical pesticides and fertilizers. This is affecting our ecosystem since every living being needs water to survive. So we are all in danger!
Pollution has negatively affected the life of both animals and human-beings. Some ways to stop pollution is to try as much as we can to stop the use of plastic bags, to recycle and reuse old stuff, and to stop throwing garbage on the streets and the sea. Moreover, to stop air pollution the government must take action and set laws that force factories to use filters. Also, people must pay fines if they violate the law and keep on burning garbage. If we apply these laws, we can prevent pollution’s dangerous effects on our lives. Also, we must conserve water as much as possible and dispose toxic waste properly and minimize the usage of pesticides.
Environmental pollution is one of the biggest problems caused by human activities and we should overcome it to live a healthy life. We should always remember that pollution affects all of us so everyone has to do his or her best to help save our environment, we should encourage people to stop pollution and let them know everything about these consequences. Let’s help save our world before it disappears.
