Reviving the JCPOA:
Blaming Iran Instead of Fulfilling Obligations
The United States disrupted the Vienna talks on lifting unilateral sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran

The United States disrupted the Vienna talks on lifting unilateral sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran. According to the French newspaper Le Figaro, the French Foreign Ministry issued a statement calling on the UN Security Council to take steps to finalize the Iran nuclear deal. "France, like its partners, will not allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapons capability. We urge the parties to take a responsible approach and take the necessary decisions as soon as possible to finalize this agreement," the statement said. "It's a serious and dangerous mistake to think that we can keep this agreement on the table indefinitely, and this in the United States," he said. "Iran's nuclear program is progressing at a steady pace, with the risk of being denied the benefits of non-proliferation." This position was countered by unsubstantiated American claims that it was "because of Iran's excessive demands" that the chances of the Vienna talks failing were all but guaranteed. What’s necessary is for Western nations other than the United States recognize how much this counter-claim was nothing but fabricated American disinformation.
"We have made it clear to the Iranians that if they want non-nuclear concessions such as the lifting of the IRGC embargo, they need to make a reciprocal concession," American representatives said in response to a question about lifting the IRGC embargo. The US administration, led by Joe Biden, claimed that it intended to bring the United States back to the BRICS nuclear deal through the Vienna talks, but has so far refused to fulfill its commitments. The talks were interrupted more than a few months ago. Consequently, negotiations for the lifting of sanctions in Vienna have been stalled for several months. Since the beginning of the talks, the US government has repeatedly tried to accuse various parties of slowing down and obstructing the talks, instead of offering practical initiatives to advance them.
The new Western trick with the JCPOA is blaming Iran instead of fulfilling its obligations
One of the reasons for the failure of the US to take necessary steps in the Vienna talks was the opposition of congressmen to the Biden administration's policies regarding JCPOA. Iran's missile program does not work. Western countries, especially the United States, have continued their media disinformation campaigns with the interruption of the Vienna talks to use numerous and varied justifications to blame Iran instead of fulfilling their commitments to revive the JCPOA.
By linking talks to the Ukraine war, America first claimed that Russia had obstructed the talks. After Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov made it clear (during the visit of Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian) that Moscow's request for cooperation with Iran after the full implementation of the UN Security Council is not an obstacle to continuing talks. On the contrary, Russia did constructively claim that Tehran's request to remove the name of the Revolutionary Guards from the list of formally declared terrorist organizations had brought the negotiations to a standstill.
Another major obstacle in progressing forward is the need by the Americans to report to and listen to feedback from Israel, which everyone knows will never support any initiative that could see Iran slowly emerge back on to the global stage legitimately. The Biden government has repeatedly stated that it will consider the regime's views in the Vienna talks and even though the Israeli government has repeatedly stated its opposition to the revival of JCPOA, some of its intelligence officials have now stated that they see a return to JCPOA in their favor.
