Environmental pollution destroys the places that surround us. Gases and smoke in the air, chemicals and other substances in the water, and solid waste on the ground are among the causes of pollution.
Environmental pollution is a term that refers to all the ways in which human activity causes damage to the natural environment. Most people witness environmental pollution in the form of open waste dumps or in the form of black smoke emanating from a factory.
But pollution may be invisible, without smell or taste. Some types of pollution may not actually cause land, air and water pollution, but they are capable of weakening the enjoyment of life for people and other living beings. Noise from traffic and machinery, for example, can be considered a form of pollution.
Environmental pollution is one of the most serious problems for humanity and other forms of life currently inhabiting our planet. Poorly polluted air can harm crops and carry life-threatening diseases.
There are many ways to reduce the degree of air pollution resulting from stationary sources such as factories, furnaces, fuel and electric power plants. For example, a factory could install equipment designed to reduce the amount of pollutants it emits. It can also be transformed into a method of manufacturing or burning fuel, which leads to a reduction in air pollution. The plant can also switch to using cleaner fuel. In some cases, the factory must use some of these procedures to reduce the degree of contamination. Controlling pollution from cars and trucks requires changing the way engines and fuel components operate, and installing anti-pollution devices in vehicles. Owners of factories and refineries work in all these fields to find appropriate means to combat pollution. In addition, there is an ongoing study to develop alternative engines powered by electricity, natural gas, steam or other sources of energy to reduce air pollution.
The al-Jazeera region (northeast of Syria) has been exposed to the worst types of environmental pollution for eight years, and if the situation continues like this, we will be facing an environmental catastrophe from which no one will escape, and our health, food and environmental security will be in great danger. We are all concerned with our environment, to preserve it for a better future. For our children and for generations to come.
Here I will try to highlight some of the environmental risks and proposed solutions.
Some environmental problems :
Generators: Generators widely spread in cities and towns are considered one of the sources of environmental pollution and a cause of slow death, as they pollute the air, emit smoke and disturbing noise, and cause health and psychological damage to all residents without exception.
Entry cars: Entry cars are considered one of the sources of environmental pollution, as their numbers have increased in cities and villages in a very large way, exceeding the absorptive capacity. A cause of conflict between the members of the same neighborhood, due to the lack of a place to park the car, which creates hatred and affects community cohesion.
Irregular oil refineries:
Recently, many sources of oil pollution have spread in our regions, and what was evident and clear is the spread of the so-called irregular burners or oil refineries, which are used in primitive oil refining for the production of diesel and gasoline, without taking the slightest degree of protection and public safety. It is always visible to black clouds of smoke in the areas where these burners are used, and these burners have deadly effects on the environment, agriculture, soil and people.
suggested solutions:
-Work to secure regular electricity, and distribute it fairly and equally to all residents.
-If the first solution is currently difficult, then the generators that are scattered chaotically can be replaced by large generators that meet the environmental conditions, provided that they are placed in designated places away from population centers.
-Securing other job opportunities for workers and owners of generators.
-Stopping the import of all types of entry cars.
-Applying environmental conditions to all cars. -Exposing environmental polluters to legal accountability and financial. -Permanently removing irregular oil refineries and replacing them with regular oil refineries.
